Msgr. Boyd was named pastor of St. Dunstan's in 1942 following the death of Rt. Rev. F.L. Carney, V.G. He was named monsignor in November 1954 and Protonotary Apostolic in January 1966. On December 20th, 1969 Msgr Boyd gave his final sermon of thanks to the parishioners of St. Dunstan’s.
