Altar And Sacristy Care

The preparation of the Altar Eucharistic celebrations is the main task of this group. The members also care for the sacred vessels, prepare the liturgical books, oversee all preparations for the Sunday and weekday Masses.

Lector And Eucharistic Ministries

Many parishioners participate in these very important ministries, namely, the proclamation of God’s word and the distribution of the Eucharist. While this primary responsibility is participation as lectors and Eucharist ministers at the weekend liturgies, they also commit themselves when possible to serve as ministers at the weekday Masses.

There is a co-ordinator of these ministries, and schedules are drawn up twice a year. Call the parish office (444-6001) for further information.

Cantors and Instrumentalists

Cantors either sing with one of the choirs or sing alone with an instrumentalist and lead the congregation in song. As well, the various singing groups like to enhance their music with additional instruments. Those interested may particpate on a regular or occasional basis.

Ministry Of Hospitality And Ushers

A number of parishioners act a greeters and welcome the faithful to the liturgical celebrations in our parish. The greeters are present to greet, direct and assist parishioners, hand out bulletins, and generally to make people welcome.

Other parishioners act as ushers and collectors of the offerings every weekend.

Anyone who would like to participate in these ministries may call the parish office at 444-6001.

Bereavement Ministry

A number of parishioners make themselves available to serve at funerals. They are notified by a co-ordinator, and they act as lectors, Eucharist ministers or servers.

Other parishioners offer their services when funerals are held to prepare and host a post-funeral reception for family members and friends. This very valued service by the parish is a much appreciated occasion by the mourning families.
